V2EX Privacy Policy

V2EX is an iOS client for browsing and participating in the V2EX community. This app is not operated by V2EX. It helps people read topics, sign in to their V2EX account, post topics, reply, receive notifications, ignore topics or members, and upload images for use in posts.

This policy explains what information the app stores, what third-party services it contacts, and what the app does not collect.

Information Stored on Your Device

V2EX stores the following information locally on your device:

• App settings such as font scale and daily mission preference
• Topic drafts and image upload cache entries
• Ignored topic and member identifiers
• Saved account names and avatar URLs
• V2EX session cookies used to keep you signed in

Saved account names are stored through Apple Keychain. Drafts, preferences, and ignored IDs are stored using Apple UserDefaults. Image cache files are stored in the app cache directory.

The app does not store your V2EX password.

Third-Party Services

V2EX contacts third-party services to provide app functionality:

• V2EX: account login, topic lists, topic pages, replies, notifications, favorites, ignore/block actions, daily mission, and member pages
• ImgBB: optional image upload when you choose an image in the composer
• External websites: links opened from topics, replies, or member content

When the app contacts these services, standard network information such as your IP address may be processed by those services as part of normal internet communication. Content you post to V2EX or upload to ImgBB is handled according to those services’ own policies.

User-Generated Content and Safety

V2EX contains user-generated content from the V2EX community. The app provides:

• Tools to ignore topics and block or ignore members
• Links and actions that use V2EX platform features where available

V2EX platform content is operated and moderated by V2EX, not by this app. Objectionable content should be handled through V2EX platform mechanisms. The app’s local ignore and block features are intended to reduce repeated exposure to unwanted content inside the app.

What V2EX Does Not Do

V2EX does not:

• Sell personal data
• Use advertising SDKs
• Track you across apps or websites
• Access your contacts, microphone, camera, or precise location
• Store your V2EX password
• Run its own analytics or advertising server

App Store Privacy Disclosure

The app uses local storage for app functionality and declares UserDefaults usage in its privacy manifest. The app does not use collected data for tracking or advertising.

Because this app lets you sign in, post content, reply, and optionally upload images, App Store privacy disclosures may include user ID, sensitive information used for login, user content, and photos or videos for app functionality.

V2EX 包含來自 V2EX 社群的使用者產生內容。V2EX 平台內容由 V2EX 營運與管理，不由本 App 管理。App 提供忽略主題、忽略/封鎖使用者等功能，用來降低你在 App 內再次看到不想看到內容的機會；不當內容應透過 V2EX 平台本身的處理機制處理。

V2EX 不使用廣告 SDK、不追蹤使用者跨 App 或網站的活動、不出售個人資料，也不會存取聯絡人、麥克風、相機或精確位置。
